Ted Kendall

Ted Kendall, along-side former partner Scott Koenig, started TripleScoop in March, 2007. So who is Ted Kendall?

With over 20 years on both the client and supplier side of market research there is very little that Ted has not experienced.  Where he made his mark is as   an early pioneer in online methods.  He was in the right place at the right time with the right internal clients to conduct the first online survey for Greenfield Online.  And, in conjunction with GOL, he developed the first bulletin board for market research use (MindStorm) in 1997.  (It is a cool story of desperation and ingenuity that also involved something referred to as Alzheimer’s Groups.  Ask him about it.  He is happy to retell it.  Even if it is boring to most people.)  In 2000, in partnership with Jim Bryson of 20/20 Research, he co-founded QualTalk–the forerunner of 20/20 Research’s QualBoards.

Ted’s client-side experience includes work in both the high tech (Hewlett-Packard, Compaq (pre-HP) and telecom (US West, MediaOne/AT&T Broadband) industries.

He will freely admit that he is a market researcher at heart, and clings to old school market research principles while embracing new technology for doing market research better.  He got into market research when taking an advertising class and in doing a project for a local potato chip company, realized he was having much more fun working with the numbers on a taste test than in coming up with the creative for a new campaign.

When not engrossed in market research Ted enjoys reading (Goodreads profile), distance running, watching and reading about baseball, my beloved Oakland A’s, listening to classic rock (top bands–Chicago, Genesis, Yes…) and the outdoors of Colorado.
